I’ve been training with Rory for 9 months now. Following a back operation I was in pretty poor shape and suffered quite regular pain. I am now in the best shape I have been in for years and virtually pain free. Rory focuses sessions on your personal goals and needs, is incredibly flexible over training locations and makes sessions fun and challenging. His background in parkour gives a really helpful insight into body weight exercises and the dynamics between various muscle groups and concentration. I can’t recommend him more highly.

Rory has been my personal trainer the past 4 months. So far, I have managed to lose 8kg and have increased my stamina and energy levels. Rory’s unique approach to fitness, by playing exercise games and challenges has helped me build my confidence, and shown me what my strengths and weaknesses are. I highly recommend Rory to anyone looking for a great personal trainer!

Training 1:1 with Rory is a full workout, for the mind as well as the body. I also find our sessions really fun and exhilarating! For me, the biggest surprise has been in my self-confidence. I no longer just feel like a middle-aged man, accepting and managing the ever-increasing decrepitude as best I can. Now I feel like someone who is strong and able-bodied, open to new challenges, in control. I feel like I am more in tune with my body and have new confidence in my ability to handle whatever surprises life brings.

My personal experience of Rory Ferguson’s Primitive Movement workshop has been an exploration of what it is to be part of the natural environment. Each session is structured around a different aspect of moving in natural spaces: building strength, developing confidence in movement, exploring spaces, and setting challenges. I see the overarching theme as one of developing the essentials of movement to form a complete, progressing human.

Rory’s own love of the power of natural environments is clear. It is a joy to find people who love movement, exploration, and challenge; Rory is one of these people. If you’re looking for a workshop that focuses on the spirit of natural movement, this is where you find it.

I have been training 1:1 with Rory for a couple of months. His approach to exercise is so refreshing and fun. He sets clear goals and a plan for how I will achieve them and I already feel like I have made a lot of progress. My sessions with Rory are always challenging but great fun and he is a very supportive and encouraging trainer. I would highly recommend Rory for anyone looking for PT.

I had several group and 1:1 sessions with Rory and love his focused and “intentional” based training style. Working outdoors within the urban landscape is a really nice alternative to the normal gym environment, and his gentle but firm training communication really resonated well with me. I’ve had a few trainers over the years and Rory is my favorite so far!

Working with Rory Ferguson as a personal trainer has been excellent. He constantly comes up with new ways to make exercise engaging and interesting, while encouraging me to push my limits, and overcome both physical and mental barriers. I particularly enjoy his focus on learning to move through different environments. Lessons found us up trees, over walls, and avoiding the floors (which is mostly lava). Rory also has lots of helpful advice for finding new ways to approach meals and meal planning, without being preachy or judgemental. On top of all this he’s just a really nice dude! I always pictured personal training as someone shouting at me while I slowly died on a exercise bike. This was the opposite of that. Do yourself a favour, get some sessions with him!
