I’m Rory Ferguson, and I am a personal trainer, parkour coach, and nature enthusiast. As a kid, I developed a strong passion for nature, and loved to challenge myself through outdoor leisure sports. I would climb trees, jump off walls, hike, explore, and always seek out the next adventure.

Over the years, I found that this inclusion of natural movement, fun, challenge, strength, and self improvement, paved the way to becoming a more confident and capable person.

These are the fundamental pillars behind my philosophy and approach.

 
 

My Approach

 

It is my belief that, we as humans, should move with purpose. Moving with purpose means we have functional bodyweight strength and related skills for our everyday lives such as:

  • Have confidence in ourselves, our skills, and abilities

  • Carry objects of weight

  • Travel long distances by manpower

  • Climb, crawl, balance, and have coordination

  • Have the energy and skills to traverse our environment with ease and efficiency, as we see fit

Natural movement is essential, universal, and most importantly - empowering.

By approaching fitness in this natural and fun way, I developed movement skills, strength, mobility, and coordination.

I have found that the transferability of these skills is truly empowering! It gave me the energy and confidence to perform the activities and face the challenges in my everyday life, with ease.

With this knowledge, my approach is simple. I try and get my clients outside, moving, and having fun as much as possible!

I began training several clients 1:1 with this methodology, and witnessed it as a powerful means to transform other people’s lives as well. Fitness was no longer a simple, one-dimensional facet, to their lives. It became a philosophy that extends beyond their weekly workout, into their everyday lives. It was a lifestyle transformation.

We should have complete control over our mind and bodies, to be the most capable version of ourselves.

We need to move with purpose, as we once did. As we age, we often view play and natural movements as something only for children, when it is not! Natural based movements are life-skills, and a playful approach to fitness will keep you entertained, excited, and motivated!
